Located in the South of the Saint Emilion appellation, Sainte Terre, historically a small village of fisherman in the 15th century has underwent a small revolution in the 18th century thanks to the agronomist Pierre Combret de la Nauze. He studied with precision this gravelly soil area and thanks to him, viticulture developed quickly in the village. He even gave his name to Château de la Nauze of which he affirmed the quality of the terroir. Today Sainte Terre covers 300 hectares, operated by more than 25 producers.
